Since we first opened our doors, giving
just one concert in 1997, we have now completed our most successful
season yet, giving 10 concerts, from August 3rd to August 27th.
We love our home at the Keystone
Center. The acoustics are wonderful, and the setting is perfect — trees
and mountains through the windows as the musicians play, and everyone
close enough to see and experience the artists as they play. Our
musicians come to us from all over. We are lucky to have some of
the most sought after players from festivals and orchestras anywhere
in the world. Besides the performances (and the hiking), our musicians
are dedicated to giving something else back to the Keystone Community.
Every year we feature master classes for local string students,
to share the experience of our professional lives.
This coming year we are planning a new apprentice program, with the
aim of letting some talented local students study privately with
some of our musicians. We also use the Keystone Center to exhibit
artwork by local artists. Some of our featured artists include Sunni
Tieze, Rolf Dercum, Hank Parker, and Karina
Wetherbee. It provides yet another facet to our concert
setting, and also highlights some of the very talented
people who reside in Keystone/Summitt County. We are dedicated to
being a part of the community that supports us. If you are planning
a visit to our festival next summer, their is no end of things to
do in Keystone when you aren't attending concerts! For more information
